A two day (6 hours per day approx) woodturning course covering the basics of spindle turning on day one and platter and bowl turning on day two.
Day 1 – safety, parts of the lathe, hand tools and sharpening, essential spindle turning techniques and a spindle turning project
Day 2 – Turn a platter and then turn a bowl including grain orientation; effective chuck attachment; use of spindle and bowl gouge; sanding and finishing, ending with a Q&A
Usual start time 9:30am and finish time around 4:30-5:00pm. Up to four people can be accommodated and I welcome group bookings.
